Baxter has recently announced that they have completed the final stage of purchasing Baxa Corporation with a cash-out of 380 million dollars. Last August, Baxter confirmed that they were already in talks to acquire the pharmaceutical firm with the agreement earlier this week.

Baxa Corporation is a pharmaceutical firm dedicated to promoting correct preparation of safe medication doses. The company has been manufacturing complex IV infusion pump systems since 1975. It was only earlier this week that Baxter completed the acquisition agreement of Baxa Corporation with an aim “to provide a comprehensive solution to fulfill the majority of patients’ nutritional requirements and increase efficiency in the pharmacy,” according to Baxter Medical Products president, Robert M. Davis.

With the acquisition, Baxter announced new brands added to its selection of trusted products including DoseEdge Pharmacy Workflow Manager, an integrated system that features the management of IV and oral dose preparation activities. This unit ensures proper and timely delivery of IV doses to patients. The product not only provides automated drug delivery through an infusion pump, but also rejects wrong medication with its integrated drug verification capability.

Both Baxter and Baxa are in a mission to advance the delivery of IV nutrition using highly developed equipment such as Baxter’s premixed containers and Baxa’s automated syringe pump and filling systems. AIV provides parts and repair services for Baxter infusion pumps. Visit the full listing of the available Baxter infusion pump parts at http://www.aiv-inc.com/baxter-infusion-pumps.html.
